Official U.S. tariff data, clearly explained and easy to verify.

The CSL Globe® US Tariff Search Engine uses official tariff data from the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC). It shows the product description, base duty rate and any extra U.S. tariffs that may apply.

Search by product name or tariff code, choose any country or region of origin, and set the planned entry date. You can verify the source directly on the USITC website.

Kept current with official tariff updates and policy changes.

We update the tool when the U.S. government publishes a new tariff schedule or policy change, so each search uses the latest available rules.

In October 2026, the tool was updated with the tariff schedule published on October 9. That update included a change to an exclusion from the U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods.

Common tariff clauses

The HTS line is the starting point. These programs can add duties, change the rate or require importer-specific evidence.

01

Section 301

9903.88 heading family

Additional duties apply to covered goods and can change by product list, exclusion and effective date. Check the underlying HTS Chapter 99 heading against the article and origin.

02

Section 232

9903.94 example

National-security measures cover selected steel, aluminum, copper, vehicles and derivative products. Product scope and non-U.S. content can affect the applicable duty.

03

Country-specific Chapter 99

9903.05 heading family

Country measures can sit outside the ordinary HTS line and may stack with Section 301 or Section 232. The entry date and product exclusions must be checked together.

04

AD/CVD

Case-specific measures

Antidumping and countervailing duty rates can depend on the written product scope, producer and exporter. An HTS code does not by itself establish the case rate.

05

Special and FTA rates

HTS “Special” column

A special rate requires qualifying origin, a valid preference claim and supporting records. The HTS symbol alone does not show whether a shipment is eligible.

Tariff Search FAQs

Is the tariff data real and verifiable?
Yes. HTS line data and matched additional-duty measures are sourced from the official U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) Harmonized Tariff Schedule and Chapter 99 U.S. notes. You can verify the current release directly at hts.usitc.gov.
Is the tariff data always up to date?
Yes. We refresh the lookup from each new official USITC HTS release and applicable policy update, and use the latest imported release for each search.
Can the result be used as a final customs ruling?
The search is a reference tool, not a binding customs ruling. Classification, origin, valuation and program eligibility remain the importer's responsibility and should be confirmed with a licensed customs broker or U.S. Customs and Border Protection before filing.
